Tourism Council

Fremont County took its name from famed western explorer Captain John C. Fremont, "The Pathfinder," who, along with his scout Kit Carson, mapped the territory in 1843. Fremont County is nestled along the Arkansas River valley in south central Colorado at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Fremont County encompasses an area of 1,533 square miles and has a population of 47,426. Mild weather and beautiful landscapes make Fremont County a tourist attraction in all seasons. Towns such as Cañon City, Florence, Penrose and Cotopaxi reside within the County.

FREMONT COUNTY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Bobbie MillerFremont County Elected Officials named Bobbie Miller as the Fremont County Employee of the Year for 2012.  Bobbie does a great job, and her co-workers notice and appreciate her contributions.  Bobbie has worked in the Facilities Department for over five years.  She is currently the Lead Custodian.  As stated in her nomination letters:

“…her outstanding work ethic, her reliability, and her
    pleasant personality…” 
“…true dedication…takes a great deal of pride in her work…”
“...positive attitude and a smile on her face no matter what time of day…”
“…always pleasant and thoughtful no matter what is going on…”
“…we are lucky to have her here…”

Bobbie’s pride in Fremont County shows and her years of loyal service are commendable.  The County is a better place with Bobbie a part of it. Congratulations to Bobbie Miller, and thank you for a job well done!
