Road Closure Updates:
CR 69: Closed to thru traffic until further notice. The road will need to dry out before crews can go in and repair the damage. There is not an estimated time at this point, due to weather conditions.
CR 12: passable with a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
Phantom Canyon (CR 67): Closed for the summer.
Shelf Road: NOW OPEN on both Teller County and Fremont County ends.
CR 45: Closed
323A: Closed in the Tallahassee area.
CR 143: NOW OPEN. Citizens are asked to drive with caution and slow down. Anyone entering roads through barricades do so at their own risk.
Chandler (CR 77) at Pinion Avenue and at CR 80 - NOW OPEN
High Park (CR 11) - NOW OPEN
The road closures are due to rock slides and wash outs and are not passable. Crews are working as quickly as possible to get these areas opened and to mitigate further issues. We are asking citizens to please be patient and to understand that these closures are for your safety.

On May 1, 2015 the Fremont County Assessor's Office mailed a Real Property Notice of Valuation to every property owner in Fremont County.
Several hundred of these notices have been returned to the Assessor's Office as "Undeliverable" by the Postal Service. If you own property in Fremont County and you did not receive a Notice of Valuation, please contact the Assessor's Office so that we can verify your mailing address and forward your notice to you. Fremont County Department of Public Health and Environment: New Location and Phone Number
Fremont County Public Health offices have now been moved to our new location! Our offices are now open in the Fremont County Garden Park building, 201 N. 6th Street in Cañon City (located across the street from the Fremont County Administration building). We are no longer operating out of our old location on Justice Center Road.
Also please note that our agency name has changed to Fremont County Department of Public Health and Environment. Environmental Health Services has become part of Public Health and has also moved to the new location at 201 N. 6th Street.

New State Child Welfare Hotline Number
The Colorado Department of Human Services has launched a new statewide child abuse and neglect hotline:
This hotline is designed to provide one, easy-to-remember phone number for individuals to use statewide to report suspected child abuse and neglect. The hotline serves as a direct route to Colorado's 64 counties and two tribal nations, which are responsible for accepting and responding to child abuse and neglect inquiries and reports. All callers will be able to speak with a call-taker 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

FREMONT COUNTY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Fremont County Elected Officials named Marty Keen as the Fremont County Employee of the Year for 2014. Marty does a great job, and her co-workers notice and appreciate her contributions. She is currently a Deputy Assessor. As stated in her nomination letters:
