COVID-19 Appointments

The Clerk and Recorder’s office will strive to do its best to maintain “social distancing” while still serving the citizens and customers of Fremont County.  Please be patient with my Clerks as they are working diligently for all customers so no one has to make a second trip.  If you have questions or concerns please contact our office during business hours and we will do our best to return phone calls on the same day.  Thank you for your patience during these uncertain times.

Appointments for DMV

Appointments in the DMV will be approved on a case by case scenario.  There are very few transactions that require customers to appear in person.  Most common transactions that may require an appointment will be multi-office transactions that involve DMV and another department.  Appointments will be approved by the Clerk and Recorder, Chief Deputy, or designated clerks.  Call 719-276-7440 to make an appointment.

Drop Box and Mail

The drop box is available for all title work, registrations, and renewals.  Due to the current situation I encourage every individual to utilize our drop box at the WEST DOORS of the county building.  If you are attempting to complete title work, please call our office at 719-276-7440.  One of the clerks will answer or return your call and open a dialogue with you to make sure we receive the correct documentation when you drop it off or mail it in to our office.

Kiosk and Online Services

If the transaction you are needing to complete is available at the Kiosk (inside City Market) or available online www.mydmv.colorado.gov an appointment may not be approved.  Due to the current situation and the multiple avenues of which to complete a transaction, we are limiting the amount of transactions completed in person.  Utilizing online services allows my office to maintain “social distancing” appropriately, sanitize work areas, and provide services more effectively.

Appointments for Election

All appointments will be approved on a case be case scenario.  There are no transactions that aren’t available online, e-mail, or phone.  Appointments will be approved by the Clerk and Recorder, Elections Director, or designated clerks.  Call 719-276-7340 to make an appointment.

Drop Box and Mail

All paperwork can be found on our website or e-mailed to you.  Please mail in or utilize the DMV drop box at the WEST DOORS of the county building.

Almost all service for Elections are available online at www.govotecolorado.gov.  Utilizing online services allows my office to maintain “social distancing” appropriately, sanitize work areas, and provide services more effectively.

Appointments for Recording

All over the counter recording will be by appointment only.  This will allow the clerks time to prep for the recording and verify all necessary information and payment is received.  If at all possible, please use the drop box to submit paperwork instead of making an appointment.  Appointments will be approved by the Clerk and Recorder, Recording Director, or designated clerk.  Please call 719-276-7336 to make an appointment.

Appointments for Marriage Licenses

All Marriage License Applications must be applied for online at https://pubsearch.fremontco.com/web.  After the application is submitted then a clerk will call you to verify information and set up an appointment for you to sign paperwork, process payment and verify your ID’s.  We will let you know what form of ID you need to bring with you.  Appointments will be approved by the Clerk and Recorder, Recording Director, or designated clerk.  Please call 719-276-7336 to make an appointment.

Appointments for Research

Appointments will be limited for all searches to make sure every searcher has opportunity to access public records.  All appointments will need to be made for 7am to 11:30am or 12pm to 4:30pm.  Appointments will be approved by the Clerk and Recorder, Recording Director, or designated clerk.  Please call 719-276-7336 to make an appointment.
