We had the construction kickoff meeting for the Hayden Pass Emergency Watershed Protection Project on Monday, April 1. The contractor has mobilized and the project is under way. The deadline to have construction complete is May 20.

The Commissioners and I attended the Boys and Girls Club Breakfast on Thursday, April 4. This organization does a lot for the youth in our community and it was good to hear updates on their 2018 accomplishes as well as their plans for 2019.

Public Health had an open house on Thursday, April 4. It was very well attended and they had a lot of useful information to hand out about the services offered through Public Health.

The Commissioners and I met with members of the City Councils from Cañon City and Florence and the Florence City Manager on Monday, April 8. We had a productive conversation about issues, successes, and future projects in the various communities. We look forward to working on combined projects with the two municipalities.

We received a Department of Local Affairs Energy and Mineral Impact Fund Grant to finish space on the second floor of the Judicial Building to allow for another courtroom. We were also awarded an Underfunded Grant that will also be used for this project. We are hoping to have construction underway in the next few months.
