Summary: 

Provides a variety of case management and support functions for the Child Care Subsidy Program. Provides educational information of childcare resources and refers applicants to other agency or community resources for other services if appropriate. Informs and refers for exempt provider training. Trains new staff in low income and special circumstance childcare procedures. Assists clients and providers in maintaining cooperative working relationships around childcare arrangements. Determines eligibility for childcare subsidies through interviews and verification of information.

Duties: 

Determines initial eligibility. Provides general assistance and ongoing contacts as needed with providers and clients to assist in maintaining cooperative relationships or directs issues to appropriate resources for assistance and resolution. Approves/denies applications based on information obtained and Child Care Subsidy Program rules and regulations. Completes redetermination every twelve months, based on information obtained through forms completed by client. Calculates and determines any changes in eligibility and amounts of subsidies the client qualifies for. Notifies clients, providers and agency billing office of any changes. Facilitates orientation explaining childcare program procedures, requirements, responsibilities, childcare choices and referral procedures to obtain quality, dependable childcare, explains program procedures/requirements and education on selection of quality, dependable childcare and community resources. Provides training to child care providers on requirements of the Attendance Tracking System (ATS) and any other issues which may arise. Resolves provider issues including, but not limited to, parent fees, authorizations, rebills and contract/program questions. Complete facility visits with each provider at a minimum of annually to verify compliance with the CCCAP rules and regulations. Represents the Department at internal and external meetings regarding Child Care.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences or related field. Full-time, paid professional, high-level technical or para-professional work experience providing the same kind, amounts and level of knowledge obtained through the required education may substitute year for year for the Bachelor’s Degree.

Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License. Must be able to pass a nationwide background check. Must possess liability automobile insurance.
