Caseworker - Adult Protection

This position provides assessment, investigation and casework services for elderly or at risk adults susceptible to neglect, abuse or exploitation, coordinates the county’s Adult Protection Team, provides management of personnel needs accounts of clients who are incapacitated and have no conservator and certifies county Adult Foster Care facilities. Provides crisis intervention and short term counseling to emergency situations after hours.  


Level I- Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field. Major course work is the
equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child 
development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques.  Examples of 
such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child 
Level II – Minimum of one year of full-time professional caseworker experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency.  
Level III – Two years full time, professional, paid experience obtained after the degree in a public or private social services agency.
A master’s degree in social work or human behavioral sciences field may substitute for one year of work experience.


Additional Requirements: 

A valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, liability insurance. Must be physically present within the geographical boundaries of Fremont County when performing on-call duties.  Must be able to pass a nationwide background check.
