Contestants Sought for Florence Health Clinic Mural Contest

The Fremont County Public Health Agency is conducting a mural art contest for the walls of a new public health clinic currently under renovation in Florence.   The contest is open to residents of Fremont County ages 14-18.  The art work should reflect one of two themes: “Tree of Life” or “Reading on the Beach”.   However, any other health related art work will be accepted for consideration. The winning artists will be invited to reproduce their entry as a mural on the walls of the new clinic at the Florence Municipal Center.   Mural paint for the winning entries has been generously donated by Sherwin-Williams and M & M Paint.

The new public health clinic, located at 600 W. 3rd, Suite B in Florence, is scheduled to open this spring. “This is a great opportunity for young artists in our community to showcase their work, while creating an inviting atmosphere for the clients of the new clinic,” said director Carla Dionne.    The mural artist winners will have their entry art work professionally framed.    In addition they will receive a prize package that includes donations from High Country Bank, the Royal Gorge, 1st Choice Fitness, and Bubba’s.

Interested teens should stop by the Fremont County Public Health Agency office in Cañon City for an entry form and a complete set of rules.   The deadline for entering the contest is January 14th.   The Fremont County Public Health Agency is located at 172 Justice Center Road in Cañon City.   To learn more about the Mural Art Contest, contact FCPHA at 719-275-1626.    To stay current with all Fremont County Public Health announcements visit https://www.facebook.com/#!/FremontCountyPublicHealthAgency online.
